When you are young, your skin is quenched with an abundance of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is what keeps your skin hydrated and looking smooth, plump and youthful. As you get older, your skin starts to lose some of this HA, leaving behind various signs of aging such as lax skin or a loss of volume. Voluma is a new filler designed to provide your skin with a whole new supply of hyaluronic acid to restore volume and refine the youthful contours of your face. Dr. Robinson can help you to take years off your appearance with a non-surgical Voluma treatment (*).
What is Voluma?
The newest product by Juvéderm is now available at our offices in Northwest Indiana. Voluma XC is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler of its kind. Dr. Robinson uses Voluma to instantly add volume to cheeks that have sunken or lost volume due to factors such as aging or sun damage. The treatment has been able to achieve lifting results for many patients. Voluma is not to be confused with the traditional Juvéderm treatment, which is used for smoothing moderate to severe surface lines and wrinkles in the face. A Voluma treatment can be combined with the traditional Juvéderm treatment or other injectable treatments for more youthful results.
The Results of your Voluma Treatment
Your treatment should last just about a half hour, so our patients have no trouble fitting a Voluma treatment into their everyday routine. Because Voluma is a non-surgical filler treatment, you will experience little to no recovery time. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally produced by your body, so the chances of an allergic reaction are minimal. Minor side effects include redness and bruising, but these should fade within a few days of your treatment. While Voluma is best known for restoring volume to the cheeks, Dr. Robinson can also use the filler to treat volume loss or poor definition of the chin and jaw line. Patients who undergo a Voluma treatment often experience a subtle lift as well. You will notice the changes in your appearance almost immediately, and results often last for up to two full years. As the results of your Voluma treatment begin to fade, you may return for touch-up treatments to maintain your youthful appearance for many years to come.
