Breast Augmentation – When To Have Your Procedure

Posted: April 30, 2021

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. It can increase the size of your breasts, restore breast volume, achieve a more rounded breast shape and/or improve natural breast size asymmetry. If you have decided breast enhancement is something that will give you more confidence, planning ahead is essential so you can schedule your procedure to fit your life.

While you may be able to walk around and perform simple tasks just a few days after surgery, you should allow yourself several weeks to recover and work out the side effects (such as bruising and swelling).

During the first 4-6 weeks, your new breasts may look like they are in a permanent push-up bra – they’ll be high, tight, and may seem big. During this time, you also will need to avoid certain activities, such as soaker baths, hot tubs, or swimming. You also will need to avoid high-impact workouts (like cardio or running).

After 2-3 months, your new breasts will start to look and feel more like part of your own body. They will soften up and you can determine what new cup size will fit you best! Taking the time to heal after a significant procedure will enhance the result of your surgery and help minimize the already low risk of complications such as post-surgical infections.
